We are Shopper Media Group (SMG), the parent company of three small-medium, fast-growing agencies; Capture, Lobster and Threefold, who each have a unique specialism and an unrivalled client list. Across the group, we have a shared vision and mission to transform the world of shopper media.

We are looking for a Client Manager to join our newly created SMG New Business function supporting our FMCG agencies. The New Business team will be a central SMG team, and will comprise of three individuals, each aligned to one of our three agencies, reporting into the SMG Partnerships Development Director. The purpose of the new team is to be the engine of growth for the total SMG business. The team will provide an end-to-end sales function to each agency and make each agency famous for their specialism in the industry through marketing.

Some key responsibilities of the Client Manager include:

  • Work autonomously across the end-to-end new business cycle for Capture/Lobster, from prospecting and outreach, to leading meetings and maintaining contact, through to closing the business – managing the commercial agreement and governance process
  • Manage our marketing channels, including the website, LinkedIn & monthly newsletter – and shape the content that feeds into our marketing
  • Support on the development of the proposition for Capture/Lobster, proactively shaping the strategy behind our growth and how to go to market
  • Lead a number of cross agency projects (designed to impact all 3 agencies). Examples include managing SMG’s awards programme, being our technical WIX & SEO specialist, or running our SMG events programme.
  • Full responsibility for the new business margin target alongside a requirement for detailed commercial reporting 

Capture plan, create, buy, manage and evaluate media campaigns for FMCG brands across the entire retail journey. We challenge the idea of 'above the line' and 'below the line' advertising, focusing purely on getting shoppers across the line. With over 10 years' experience working with 150+ of the UK's top FMCG brands, we now have two propositions: Complete and Connect-R. Capture Complete focuses on offering FMCGs a dedicated client team to manage their total media investment in grocery retail, from planning to evaluation. Capture Connect-R helps FMCGs grow by linking more of a brand's marketing spend back to the places they are sold, creating campaigns that work from the store back.

Lobster combines our proprietary software platform Plan-Apps and data analytics with media planning and buying to help clients deliver and demonstrate increasing returns on shopper media investment. We work as consultants within shopper marketing teams and showcase this unique offering to FMCG businesses, sharing expertise across three core services areas, Technology, Trading and Training.

We’re looking for:

  • A proven track record of delivering business growth in a fast-paced, challenging environment (sector experience is highly desirable)
  • A blend of strong commercial acumen (to enable us to deliver against ambitious targets) and creative thinking (to enable us to shape differentiated marketing & content plans)
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills and a passion for building commercial relationships
  • A high degree of autonomy with a drive to succeed
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A positive and proactive attitude, as well as a true team player
