Credit Controller (3 month FTC)

We are SMG, the parent company of three small-medium, fast-growing agencies; Capture, Lobster and Threefold. Across the group, we have a shared mission to lead connected commerce marketing.

The Finance Team is a centralised capability and we work across all three agencies, supporting on everything from processing expense claims, to creating management packs, and managing budgets. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you'll help ensure that the group receives payments from our clients in-line with the agreed credit terms.

This is a part-time (22.5 hour per week) position initially on a 3 month fixed term contract, with the potential to be extended. As a Credit Controller at SMG, you will:

  • Raise sales invoices from data provided by client teams.
  • Resolve queries with the assistance of colleagues in finance & client teams.
  • Manage client invoicing portals ensuring invoices are submitted and accepted.
  • Regular communication with clients by telephone, email, and client portals regarding the status of invoices.
  • Send fortnightly client statements and undertake account reconciliations.
  • Use Experian to review current credit limits for existing clients.
  • Ensure accurate data is recorded and updated in client accounts along side accounts payable contact details.

As a Credit Controller at SMG, we'd like you to bring:

  • Experience in Credit Control, General Accounting or a Finance environment.
  • Proficiency in Accounting and Microsoft Office software (Excel).
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually.
  • Good numeracy skills and ability to process information quickly and effectively.
  • Familiarity using accounting systems / programmes such as Sage/Maconomy and client invoicing portals.
